GESIS Spring Seminar 2023 – Save the DateThe GESIS Spring Seminar offers high-quality training in state-of-the-art techniques in quantitative data analysis taught by leading experts in the field. In 2023, all courses will deal with "Modeling Group Differences" in the social sciences and beyond. It targets advanced graduate or PhD students, post-docs, and junior and senior researchers. Lectures in each course are complemented by extensive hands-on exercises and tutorials. All courses are held in English. The Spring Seminar will take place from 27 February to 17 March 2023 — either at the GESIS premises in Mannheim or Cologne. Registration will be open in October and then announced in the Training newsletter! On the website, you will then find detailed course descriptions and will be able to register for the courses. Workshop: PIAAC and PIAAC-L in Applied Research - 27. bis 28. Oktober 2022This workshop provides practical guidance for researchers who plan to work with PIAAC and / or PIAAC-L data in applied research. We will discuss key advantages and potentials of these data sets as well as important aspects to consider when working with the data in practice. In hands-on Stata exercises, we will manage and merge PIAAC(-L) data and run first analyses. Participants are encouraged to present own research ideas involving PIAAC(-L) data and receive feedback from the group. There will also be an opportunity to actively work on these ideas during the workshop. Workshop on GOR 22 - Nonresponse Bias AnalysisWednesday, 07/Sept/2022 - 10:00am - 1:00pm The workshop discusses the emergence and analysis of nonresponse bias. Frequently used indicators of nonresponse bias will be introduced and their usefulness and limitations discussed. In the practical part of the workshop, indicators for nonresponse bias will be calculated. A synthetic dataset will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own datasets to conduct nonresponse bias analysis. | GESIS Training |

Some of the ways to respect ethical principles in the case of CBOW include observing the basic needs of children, ensuring that the research outcomes inform practice and policy and that the research process contributes to better service delivery for CBOW. Der Preis geht an ein Team von Mitarbeitern der Universitäten Braunschweig, Köln und der Humbold-Universität Berlin: Christian Ebner, Michael Kühhirt und Philipp Lersch. Ihr Paper “Cohort changes in the level and dispersion of gender ideology after German reunification. Results from a natural experiment” prüft die These, dass zunehmender Wohlstand in einer Gesellschaft mit einer Ausbreitung egalitärer Geschlechterrollen einhergeht. Ingvill Constanze Mochmann von GESIS und Professorin II an der Universität Oslo ist Co-PI des Projekts, das von Inger Skjelsbæk, Professorin und Direktorin des Zentrums für Geschlechterforschung (STK) an der Universität Oslo, geleitet wird.
