Over the past few years, GESIS - Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences has been working intensively on a new statute, which has now been entered in the register of associations. One of the most important changes is that the Executive Board of GESIS will in future consist of three people: two scientific board members and one administrative board member.
On 14 June 2024, the Board of Trustees appointed Prof. Dr Beatrice Rammstedt as Vice President. This makes her the second scientific member of the Executive Board alongside the President. As an academic member of the Executive Board, Prof. Dr Rammstedt will focus in particular on the area of research, including the promotion of academics in early career phases and the third-party funding strategy, while Prof. Dr Wolf will be in charge of the further development and management of the portfolio of services, including the internationalisation and quality assurance of the services.
"I am delighted that Prof Dr Beatrice Rammstedt is an outstanding member of the Executive Board for GESIS. She is an excellent scientist and an outstanding leader and I am looking forward to the joint further development of the institute," said Prof Dr Wolf on the appointment of Prof Dr Rammstedt.
"Through my many years as head of the Survey Design and Methodology department, I know the institute very well and have accompanied and partly co-initiated many central developments at GESIS. I am now looking forward to contributing my expertise even more broadly as a member of the Executive Board and to contributing to the continued success of GESIS. At GESIS, I particularly appreciate the broad and collegial cooperation within the institute. I am therefore all the more looking forward to shaping the future of the institute together with the employees. "
Prof Dr Rammstedt and Prof Dr Wolf hope that an administrative member of the Executive Board, who still has to be appointed by the Board of Trustees, will be appointed soon.
