Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) - Seminar and Workshop

4th November 2019 in Cologne

GESIS Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences is looking forward to discuss issues related to Responsible Research and Innovation with GESIS staff, national experts and international guests from the Technical University of Delft, the Netherlands. The workshop will be held at GESIS Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences in Cologne, Germany and is organized jointly with the Green Village, the Centre for Social Innovation, ZSI and the Department of Values, Technology and Innovation at the TU Delft.

The aim of the workshop is to deepen knowledge on the principles of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) and to discuss how the principles can be applied and considered in three Green Village Research and Innovation Projects: Water from Heaven, Aqua battery group, and RADD, Automatic driving. The Green Village projects will present how they implemented RRI principles – i.e. ethics, gender equality, governance, open access, public engagement and science education – and what this has meant for their projects in terms of reflection and adaptation. The usefulness and the limitations will be assessed and discussed. In addition, impulse lectures will be presented on “Sustainability Management and Innovation”, “Gender and Diversity” and “Open Science” to widen perspectives on RRI principles.
